If you are still having issues call the studio at 208-917-7427 or email denise.ramirez@studioboise.org for technical support.

Why can't I change my reservation time?

If you are trying to change your reservation time within one hour of your original appointment, it won't allow you because it still shows as busy. All studio reservations have a 30 minute buffer time after the reservation to allow for clean up/set up time.

If you make a one-hour reservation at 1pm, it blocks out 1 pm - 2:30 pm. If you try to make or reschedule an appointment at 2pm it won't let you because it still shows as busy. To make this change you must delete your original appointment and reschedule. Or contact us and we can do it for you, 208-917-7427 or denise.ramirez@studioboise.org.

If you do want to reserve equipment, to guarantee use during your studio shoot, you will have to pay for a full day of renting.

Other info…

-Makeup Room Inclusion-

Each reservation comes with use of the communal makeup room, meaning your models or clients can share it with the other customers that may be in for a session in a different studio. If you want full access to the makeup room, you must separately rent out the makeup room. If makeup room is being rented out, then it’s no longer included with your studio rental.

-Sound Proof Needs-

Unfortunately none of our studios are sound proof. If you do need it to be silent in-studio for recordings, we do have signs that we put up, but we can’t make other paying clients, using a different studio be completely quiet. Nor can we do anything about getting customers that walk into the studio, possibly disturbing your recording. We suggest you rent out both upstairs studios if you’re concerned about needing it to be quiet, for long recording times, but we want to inform you, that still doesn’t stop us from getting people who walk in and may disrupt your recording. If you need complete and total silence (for a commercial, etc.) then we recommend you renting our studio outside of studio hours, and paying the $20 more per hour, (this option is dependent on the availability of our crew members). We always recommend calling and making your reservation at least a week in advance in regards to this option, (you have to discuss any after hour options with our studio manager). You may also consider renting out the WHOLE studio. You can see the price and details for that in our “Event Rentals” section of our “Studio Rentals” tab, or reaching out to us via email. We apologize for any inconvenience.

-After Hours Appointments-

We do have “after hours” renting available, for renting our studio outside of our regular business hours. This option costs $20 more per hour, (this option is also dependent on the availability of our crew members). We always recommend calling or emailing, and making your reservation at least a week in advance in regards to this option, you will need approval on our end, in order to get in before or after business hours. Feel free to email our manager kat.watkins@studioboise.org, in regards to planning an “after hours” shoot.

What is the equipment rental process?

1. Reserve your equipment online, over the phone, or email. (Please note - you will receive a confirmation email once we confirm your rental on our end, if you don’t receive a confirmation email, your reservation hasn’t been confirmed due to scheduling conflicts, and someone will reach out to you as soon as the reservation is seen, to discuss the issue further. Thank you!)

2. Show up at the scheduled time. During pick up you will: sign a one-time contract, complete payment (if haven't already online), and schedule the drop-off time.

3. Create some art with the equipment.

4. Return the equipment at the scheduled drop-off time. We're flexible on times and understand life happens. Let us know if you have any scheduling changes.

What if you are closed for holidays on a day I would like to pick up or drop off my equipment rental?
We only close for a maximum of 4 days in a row for holidays, Protocol for any pick ups or drop offs on holidays are as follows:

  1. You will have to schedule your pickup on a day we are open and available.

  2. For drop offs, we charge you for the time you originally planned on having it, then the days we have e closed out are free, but you MUST drop off the following day we are open, or you’ll have to pay for the days we were closed.

How do the rental periods work?

A one-day rental consists of one overnight. Each additional day adds one overnight.

All rentals start at a base price for a one-day rental then increase a set amount per additional day.

For example, a one-day rental of an 85mm lens is $30 per day and increases $7 per additional day. This means if you have a one-day rental pick up on Monday it will be $30 and is due back Tuesday. If you have a two-day rental and pick up on Monday it will be $37 and is due back on Wednesday.

Do you hold a deposit?

We don't hold any deposit for studio or equipment rentals. It states in the contract that you are responsible for all persons and equipment while using our facility and equipment. If you break it, you buy it. Equipment rentals have the option to add insurance. Some business insurances cover equipment rentals.
